Notes from the CDRA Treasurer
Treasurer’s report for year ending 31st March 2011.
The net profit for the year 2010 to 2011 was £595.05.
Assets at 31st March 2011 were £11,036.34.
Membership at 31st March was 268 households equal to 539 adults. This is disappointing in a village with around 2000 dwellings, only 13.4% of households are members.
Our main source of income was the Village Fayre, netting £2084.72 after all expenses. This, of course, depends on the weather and we were blessed with a lovely day in 2010.
Subscriptions amounted to £1162 for the year.
We received a grant from the Sussex Community Foundation during the year so that we could purchase items for use at the Fayre. We purchased two party tents for this purpose. They are also used at the Christmas Event and are available for hire to local residents.
We try to keep our expenses to a minimum, but a major expense is public liability insurance. Quite obviously this is a necessity, and is required by WSCC for our road closures and for the catenary wire across the road from the Royal Oak PH.
During the financial year we have made donations to:
The Haven Centre for new chairs (£1300)
‘Church and Village’ for help towards running costs (£200)
Monday Club for help towards running costs (£200)
Admin costs were only £8.37 this year, no credit to the committee, we didn’t need to renew anything this year and the treasurer ‘came by’ hundreds of envelopes for free.
We would like to increase our membership, please tell your friends and neighbours what we stand for. Did you enjoy the Fayre and free Christmas event? Membership is less than the cost of a pint of beer, surely you could do without one of those per year!
Colin Ward – treasurer.
30th April 2011.
